Cacao Paste is also known as cacao liquor, cacao or cocoa mass. Cacao Paste is produced by grinding the Cacao Nibs to a smooth liquid state, hence the name 'liquor', however no alcohol is present. Once solidified it becomes a 100% pure food ingredient that can be consumed in a ceremonial ritual that opens the heart through the medicine.
Ceremonial Cacao contains very low levels of caffeine and very high levels of calming magnesium. Cacao is packed full of vitamins and minerals and increases blood flow to the brain which strengthens awareness and focus. It helps the body to heal & detoxify and gives your immune system a good boost.
Our Organic Ceremonial Grade Cacao is grown in its original habitat using sustainable farming practices and promoting favourable living conditions for farmers and their families. It is sourced from the highlands of Cuzco in the Peruvian Andes.
How to Make Ceremonial Cacao:
Melt the Cacao:
- Heat water to 70°C (just below boiling—this is when you start to see steam rising).
- Take about 2 tablespoons (20g) of cacao and place it in the blender.
- Add just enough water to cover the cacao, then let it melt for 2-3 minutes.
Whizz It Up:
- Once the cacao has melted, blend it until smooth and frothy—this should take about 5-10 seconds.
Add More Water & Sweetener:
- Add more water to reach a total volume of around 1 cup.
- Add your preferred sweetener, like honey, to taste.
- Blend again until fully combined and frothy.
Enjoy:
- Pour your delicious ceremonial cacao into a cup and enjoy the rich, smooth flavor!
